Out of a gold town.

Idaho City started as a Boise Basin gold-rush camp, and in the 1860s it ran three dozen saloons. Rooster lives there now.

Saloons, honky-tonks, barrooms.

About 150 nights a year across the Rocky Mountain region, solo or as a one-man band.

In his own words, Rooster turns those rooms into whiskey-soaked, boot-stomping dens of debauchery, where western swing dancing is always encouraged. He plays fiddle, guitar, harmonica and dobro, and he plays lead on them for three other bands.
